On April 19, 2024, a conference on digitalization and automation processes in mass metrology was held at the headquarters of RADWAG in Radom. The themes of the third edition of the symposium were the future and new solutions.

The conference was open, which means that participation was free of charge. We hosted all those interested in mass metrology, including scientists, industry professionals and students.

The symposium consisted of a theoretical part (lectures) and a practical part (workshops). During the theoretical part, we discussed the influence of the properties of magnetic mass standards on calibration errors and the effect of ambient conditions on measurement readability. In addition, we presented the benefits of automating measurement processes, such as improving repeatability and reducing the cost of measurement processes. The lecture part closed with speeches on the transfer of the unit of mass measurement after the redefinition of the kilogram and inter-laboratory comparisons of high accuracy electronic balances.

The practical part was marked by automation of mass measurements in the laboratory and industry. During the workshops, the symposium participants had the opportunity to learn more about RADWAG devices constructed on the basis of our own technical thought and using a modern solution, which is a proprietary mass converter. In addition, we proved by examples the versatility of our products, which can be successfully used both in laboratory work, mass comparisons, environmental studies and industry. We sought to place special emphasis on the automation and robotization of research and production processes, including the use of cobots in traditional mass measurement and in volume testing using piston pipettes. By demonstrating these technologies, we were able to highlight their beneficial impact on increasing the precision and efficiency of the measurement processes carried out.

The honorary patronage of the symposium was held by the Polish Chamber of Commerce for High Technology IZTECH, and the media patronage was held by Laboratorium. Przegląd Ogólnopolski – a portal and magazine dedicated to the laboratory industry.
