Overview

RMC 100.5Y Robotic Mass Comparator

The RMC Robotic Mass Comparator guarantees full automation of the robotic mass standard comparison process. The synergy between the robot and the automaton translates into unparalleled repeatability results and other advantages, which we discuss below.

Fully automated comparison process

Opening the weighing chamber during measurement generates air drafts and changes the ambient conditions in the chamber, which significantly increases dispersion. With the RMC line of robotic mass comparators, this problem has been eliminated. It was solved by combining the advantages of robotic mass comparators with those of automatic mass comparators. Thanks to this innovative approach, a repeatability of comparison results of more than 100% better was achieved versus standard solutions used worldwide.

Robot and automat in one unit

The RMC mass comparator combines the advantages of robotic mass comparators and automatic mass comparators. Thanks to this innovative solution, it has been possible to:
  • Eliminate air drafts and ground vibrations
  • Maintain constant ambient conditions in the weighing chamber
  • Prolong life cycle of the robotic system
  • Shorten duration of mass standard comparison
  • Reduce noise.

Possibility of automatic mass standard dissemination

The RMC mass comparator allows a full mass standard dissemination process through the use of the intermediate mass standard magazine. This solution significantly reduces comparison time and wear and tear on the transport robot.

Real-time measurement of ambient conditions

The RMC mass comparator has been equipped with a top-class thermo-hygro-barometer enabling real-time control of ambient conditions in four locations, among many in the weighing chamber and mass standard magazine. Thermo-hygro-barometers are highly precise devices measuring pressure with the readability of 0.001 hPa, humidity of 0.01%, and temperature of 0.001°C. Reliability of ambient conditions measurement carried out using the thermo-hygro-barometer is confirmed by a calibration certificate.

Universal magazine insert design

Mass standard magazine features 100 positions. The RMC mass comparator enables comparison of weights of all shapes compliant with OIML recommendations, using just one universal insert. Remote, real-time preview of comparison process is possible thanks to a video camera (option).

Transport arm

With use of the automatic mass comparator, the transport arm remains inactive in the course of comparison, which eliminates air drafts and vibrations, considerably shortens comparison, and reduces noise emission. The transport arm of the RMC mass comparator is used only to transfer the mass standards, that is, outside the comparation process.

Additional accessories

Additional equipment includes a video camera and RMCS software. The camera enables remote preview of comparison process in real time (Internet access required), while the RMCS software allows unrestricted monitoring of the comparison process.
