The Faculty of Civil and Transport Engineering is the most represented discipline at Poznań University of Technology. Its structure includes six institutes, among them the Institute of Combustion Engines and Powertrains.

As an ambassador of mass metrology, we are aware of the key role of this field of knowledge in scientific research. For this reason, on February 15-16, 2023, in cooperation with the Institute of Combustion Engines and Powertrains of the Faculty of Civil and Transport Engineering of Poznań University of Technology, we set up a professional weighing room. This is a place where both students and researchers can measure weight with an readability even of 1 microgram.

The equipment of the weighing room allows determining the density of samples with liquid or solid structure. In this process, an analytical balance AS 310.X2 PLUS  with a hydrostatic measurement kit is used. In turn, the possibility to test the water content or dry mass in automatic mode is provided by the MA 50.X2.A moisture analyzer. Calibration of balances is a guarantee of measurement consistency, and therefore provides readability of conducted analyses.
