On 27 – 30 March 2018, the first in Poland RADWAG-manufactured AVK-1000 automatic vacuum mass comparator was installed in Central Office of Measures in Warsaw.

 

The comparator enables comparison of up to 6 prototypes of max 1kg mass with readability of d = 0.1 µg. A specially designed vacuum chamber enables carrying out measurements in a vacuum of 10-6 mbar capacity or in atmosphere containing noble gases.

 

Due to the application of our vacuum mass comparator, Central Office of Measures is now ready to carry out activities concerning re-definition of the kilogram that will take place in 2019. 

 

Central Office of Measures in Warsaw, owing to the purchase of AVK-1000 mass comparator, is now one of the top national metrological institutes in the field of mass measurement in the world.
